Haesong

Haesong, a medical volunteer club at Pusan National University School of Dentistry, is one of the oldest clubs in the dental school that has been running for 41 years this year, along with the beginning of Pusan National University Dental College. As long as it has a long history, about 400 seniors are working hard in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Seoul, the metropolitan area, and other parts of the country.

As Haesong is a medical volunteer club, we volunteer at the “Noksan Foreigner Clinic” during the semester, and the biggest volunteer service is the summer medical service every year. From diagnosing patients and making charts, to actual scaling, preservation, prosthetics, surgical procedures, and dental education and programs such as TBI. A long-term annual visit to an area excluded from oral health, and “long-term follow up” for all patients. Summer medical service is an opportunity to cultivate the true meaning of service, as well as a place to learn firsthand with knowledge and tools previously only seen in textbooks, and to receive treatment methods and know-how from seniors. While volunteering for a week, we can develop a strong bond between seniors and juniors, and we are fulfilling our roles and responsibilities as a medical volunteer club that practices learning by sharing.
