On June 23rd, 2020, a bust of Dr. Seok-Tae Ham has been installed at the School of Dentistry, Pusan National University, in remembrance of his legacy as the first dentist trained in the modern history of Korean dentistry. He actively participated in the resistant movement against Japan, both by organizing the Hansung Dental Society, an association exclusively for supporting Korean dentists amid the majority of dental communities led by the Japanese and by helping the Gyeongseong Dental School to produce the first Korean graduates in 1925. Despite the colonial opposition by Japan at the time, Dr. Ham devoted himself to lay a foundation for development of dentistry in Korea, and his legacy will continuously be remembered and celebrated by the community of Pusan National University School of Dentistry.
