Celebrating 40th anniversary of Dental education program in Pusan National University, the ceremony initiated a brand-new start of a new decade.
On May 17th, the ceremony for 40th anniversary of Dental education program in Pusan National University was held at Pusan National University of Dental school (PNUD). More than 200 people including Professors, students, graduates, faculties and staffs as well as foreign guests joined the commemorative ceremony. Various ideas were discussed for new development of PNUD. Started with school tour, opening ceremony, principle Kim’s welcoming speech, Pusan university president Chun’s and guests’ congratulatory speeches, achievement and appreciation awarding ceremony were held orderly. Also, they had time to look back 40 years of the school’s history with 40th commemorative book. Since 1979 for 40 years, PNUD has produced 4,500 graduates. In 2016, dental school program has transformed its program into graduate school, and now both undergraduate and graduate program exist together. Principle of PNUD Professor Kim said, “For the last 40 years, we have become the best dental education and research institute in Korea. We will continue to develop the PNUD to become educational institute that leads the Asia-Pacific.”
The president of Pusan National University, Ho hwan Chun said, “As the only dental school in the Southeastern region for 40 years, it has produced many great talented doctors, and has been playing a major role in improving the oral health of the public. Through reflecting on past 40 years and setting a new vision for next 100 years, I hope the school grow beyond the existing framework.”
