Dear all
We are proud to introduce the School of Medicine at Pusan National University, a distinguished university with a rich history and tradition. Since welcoming our first students in 1953, we have continued to admit outstanding students, with our 71st class enrolling this year. Our medical school is one of the few large institutions that accepts over 100 students annually, and we have produced countless excellent doctors since our founding. Our graduates are not only leaders in the medical field but also in academia, politics, law, and community service, both locally and overseas. We are committed to continuing to produce good doctors who will contribute to the well-being of individuals, the development of society, and the sustainable development of humanity.
At Pusan National University's School of Medicine, our goal is to train "good doctors," who are not only skilled in medicine but also cultured and effective communicators in a diverse society. Good doctors are creative and inquisitive learners who teach themselves and others, possess a global perspective, and dedicate themselves to their local community. We will continue to cultivate these qualities in our students and advance human well-being through innovative research.
Our university has two tertiary care hospitals, Pusan National University Hospital and Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital, which serve as teaching hospitals. Both hospitals have a size of 1,300 beds each and serve patients from across the country. They specialize in all organ transplants, such as heart and lung, and operate large centers for major diseases such as cancer, trauma, and respiratory illness. Our students have access to diverse patient cases and opportunities to acquire the latest medical knowledge and techniques during specialized training after graduation.
We are proud to work alongside outstanding professors from both the university and hospitals to achieve excellent results in education, patient care, and research. Our commitment to these areas will continue to make us a source of pride and honor for our students, professors, alumni, and local residents.
Thank you for your interest in the School of Medicine at Pusan National University.
Sincerely,
Chulhun Chang, M.D.
