Greetings,
The School of Korean Medicine at Pusan National University (PNU) opened its doors in 2008 to cultivate Korean Medicine doctors with excellent knowledge and commendable character, to lead scientification, industrialization, and globalization of Korean Medicine, and to create future value of Korean Medicine as a global education and research center.
The school of Korean Medicine at PNU is the first Korean Medicine school to be inaugurated at a national university and inherits the spirit of Dongje medical school, the first modern medical school of Korea from around 100 years ago. We are the first Korean Medicine school to establish an education resource center to focus on providing the best learning environment for our students, and the only Korean Medicine school to hold a dual tract with a professional education program and a combined Master’s/Bachelor’s degree program.
The school of Korean Medicine at PNU prioritizes clinical expertise by offering an integrative lecture system, a problem-based learning (PBL) course, an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) and clinical performance examination (CPX). We provide a top-notch research laboratory program for those students interested in gaining research experience. And we have a selective internship and advanced research programs at affiliated institutions at home and abroad, in order to help our students gain diverse and global experiences. All the faculty members are devoting ourselves to create the best education and research environment with the department of clinical and foundational medicine and the department of humanities and social medicine.
Pusan National University Korean Medicine Hospital provides ample opportunity for clinical training, and pushes forward the standardization of Korean Medicine along with the National Clinical Research Center for Korean Medicine and department of the standard herbal medicine pharmacy. Moreover, Pusan National University Yangsan campus currently holds a biomedical education cluster, including the Western Medicine school, the Dental school, the Nursing school, and the Biomedical engineering school. This puts us at the prime position to advance industrialization and standardization of Korean Medicine via multidisciplinary research, industrial-educational complex and cooperation between Korean and Western medicine.
All of our students, professors and faculty members at the PNU School of Korean Medicine will endeavor together to ensure Korean Medicine contributes not only to the public health of Korea, but also to global health.
