Oral Medicine
Oral Medicine concerns the clinical diagnosis and non-surgical management of non-dental pathologies affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. The field of oral medicine is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of: a. orofacial pain (Temporomandibular disorders, neuropathic pain, Treatment of bruxism...), b. Mucosal diseases(Salivary dysfunction, halitosis, Burning mouth syndrom, Oral lichen planus, pre-malignantlesions of the oral cavity …), c. Forensic Dentistry(Age determination, medical certificate...). Students learn to do physical examinations, to establish diagnosis and proper treatment plans, and to acquire basic knowledge of systemic diseases that would affect the management of dental patients.
