Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric Dentistry is dentistry for infants, children, and adolescents. It deals with treatment of dental caries, prevention of oral disease, behavior management, craniofacial growth and development, tooth development, management of developing dentition and occlusion, pediatric orthodontics, pediatric oral surgery, and traumatic injury. It also covers hospital dentistry, dentistry for children with special health care needs, managements of oral conditions from congenital and genetic causes. The Department of pediatric dentistry provides education and training to dental students and residents. In addition, the department continues to contribute to development of pediatric dentistry by publishing highly valued research articles based on both basic biomedical and clinical investigations.
