※ Specific course completion is required pursuant to the curriculum of each department/faculty or major (common to all departments), and the graduation credits for Humanities/Social Sciences are applicable to the interdisciplinary program of Art Culture and Visual Media and the Department of Art Culture and Image.
※ Up to 6 credits are allowed for general elective courses, which can be composed of specialized general education courses and interdisciplinary courses.
Credit award
- A grade of C (GPA 2.0) or higher is required for individual courses, but the minimum overall GPA required for graduation is 3.0.
Completion of supplementary courses
- Students enrolled in a minor or a master's or doctoral program in another department may take specified supplementary courses. However, courses already completed in the minor may be exempted.
- Students eligible to take supplementary courses must select them under the guidance of the department head (chief professor), obtain approval from the president of the affiliated institution, and take the selected supplementary course before proceeding to other courses.
- If a student is enrolled in a doctoral program that is different from the major in the master's program, supplementary courses must be taken first to gain basic knowledge of the new major.
- The minimum passing grade for supplementary courses is C (GPA 3.0).
- Credits earned from supplementary courses are not counted for the requirement of completion and graduation credits and are not used for calculating the GPA.
Credit award criteria
- Pursuant to Article 54 (Credit transfer approval between departments), Paragraph 3, of the Pusan National University Academic Regulations, students enrolled in the master's program and students who have attended a Specialized Graduate School and have obtained degrees without writing a thesis may take other undergraduate or postgraduate courses offered by PNU, and the credits earned are recognized for up to six credits, except those of the courses completed in the undergraduate major.
- Pursuant to Article 55 (Credit transfer approval between universities), Paragraph 1, of the Pusan National University Academic Regulations, the credits earned by a student at other domestic or foreign universities can be recognized for up to 50 per cent of the total credits required for graduation.
- Pursuant to PNU School Regulations, Article 42 (Standards for the recognition of the courses completed in other departments or majors), Paragraph 1, credits earned from general elective courses offered by other departments/faculties within the scope of the General Graduate School are recognized as the credits (up to six credits) of the general elective courses of the major or department/faculty. In Paragraph 2, credits earned from major courses offered by other departments/faculties allowed by the supervisor or department/faculty head can be considered toward major credits for up to 50 per cent of the credits completed.
