Graduate school programs
- The PNU General Graduate School programs consist of major and general elective courses, and Profession or Specialized Graduate School curriculums consist of common basic courses and major (compulsory and elective) courses.
- Concrete course completion depends on the programs of the department/faculty or major (common to all departments), whereby up to six credits of general elective courses can be added to the degree credits. General elective courses can be composed of professional general courses and fusion courses.
Thesis research
- Pursuant to the PNU Regulations on Curriculum Organization and Implementation, Article 37 (Eligibility for applying for department/major change) is set out in the following five paragraphs:
- 1One course is offered for thesis research for both Master’s and Ph.D. programs by the graduate school and supervisor.
- 2The supervisor takes charge of thesis research. In the event that the supervisor is unable to assume that role for unavoidable reasons, another professor from the same major can take it over.
- 3For thesis research, up to three semester credits can be earned.
- 4Thesis research must be sequentially completed stage by stage until the last semester.
- 5Applicants to degree without thesis in a Specialized Graduate School must complete the special research course (0 credit) for graduation. The implementation of the special research course and course requirements are the same as for the thesis research course. The only difference is that the special research course follows the grading scheme of S/U (Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory).
